Hailey's Thoughts...

Hailey definitely expresses her thoughts and feelings through writing and art. Here's an assignment from school. They encourage the kids to sound out the words and write them as they wish to help build their confidence in writing. Of course, they also are learning how to actually spell the words too....it's just that they haven't gotten to the words she chose to write here :).
And....the dog question keeps coming up in our house. Reese prays every night for our new puppy. Hailey obviously wants one too. We were actually set to get a golden retriever puppy in a few weeks. As you may know, I'm the huge dog lover in the house. I'm crazy about them. However, when reality struck that I was going to be managing three small kids and a new (non-potty trained) puppy, I pulled the "sorry kids" card for now. When I see dogs, I want one....really bad. Actually, I just want Jake back. He was the best and I still miss him so much. So, for now, the dog has been put on hold, but I'm sure we will be making an addition to the family sooner than later (as in, once the two year old is potty trained).

Sparkle, Sparkle

Hailes and I went shopping yesterday for some spring and summer clothes. Shopping with her is truly.....so....much....fun. She has her own style and knows what she loves. The only problem is that we have to try on everything due to that itty bitty waist, but she doesn't mind at all! Her current style involves SPARKLES!!! Every single shirt has glitter on it. This should make laundry fun!

She's not all pink anymore!!

New tennies....blue SPARKLES!

More shimmer and shine!

Spring Has Sprung

And we've been jumping for joy with a new backyard addition to celebrate. The girls LOVE it (and let's not lie....so do the parents).

Yet Another Reason...

Why I love Trey.

Today, at Hailey's school, was lunch with Dad. All dads or father-figures were invited to eat lunch with their student.

Trey's work schedule has been packed lately....and that's a good thing. Today was no different. I told him that I'd be happy to go in his place since Reese and Landry had preschool, but he quickly shot that idea down.

So, this morning he drove 45 minutes to his first appointment at 7:00am. Then drove another half an hour to a presentation. THEN, he got back in the car by 9:45am to make it to Hailey's lunch at her school at 10:30am (yes, she eats lunch at 10:30!). Then drove back to the place of his second appointment to finish meeting with the people he needed to see.

And he never complained. In fact he said he loved having lunch with her and that when she entered the cafeteria and saw him she quickly bee-lined right to him.

There is nothing more precious to me than watching our girls and their daddy spend time together. He's awesome.

And, he sent me this.

Cleaning Up

I told the girls we needed to clean the upstairs. Ten minutes into cleaning Hailey's room, I turned around and found this.

They decided starting a band would be more fun.

Star Student

A few weeks ago, Hailey was awarded the Star Student Award at her school. It recognizes, "glowing behavior, attitude and citizenship." Trey and I are so incredibly proud of her. She works hard every day and is a kind and gentle soul that loves to laugh. Great job Hailes!!

When they called her name, it appeared on a screen in front of the entire school!

Her Granni was even there to watch!
And, she got a t-shirt....and it looks like she might be able to wear it when she goes to college!

Landry's 2nd Birthday!

Ok, I'm almost a late month with this post, but I just downloaded all the pictures!

This is our sweet and sassy Landry, one year ago.
And, on February 5th, 2011, we celebrated another year of life!
The week before her birthday there was ice EVERYWHERE and the roads were horrible. Did that stop her PaPa from coming to town to party for the big event? NO WAY! And, he even joined in on wearing the party hats, which the girls love.

We went to the mall in the morning and each girl got to do their own Build-A-Bear. Landry chose a cute, blue bear. Here she is with Hailey.
And we even had a cookie cake made for her.

And there were presents that Hailey helped her open, and PaPa helped assemble.

One of her gifts was a collection of princess shoes. So, all the girls have been clomping around our house in their favorite ones!
During one of the ice days, Hailey even made her a happy birthday sign!

I can't believe my baby is two. She's quite the talker, does not understand why sometimes she's treated differently than the six year old, loves to laugh until she throws up, let's all of us know her opinion (her yes means yes and her no means NO), and still loves to cuddle with me and Trey. She's a blessing and we love her very much. Happy birthday Lou-Lou!!!

"It's Kind Of Really Cool"

One of Reese's favorite phrases right now, "It's kind of really....." She uses the phrase when she really likes something.

Well, tonight she applied it to her outing with her daddy. Trey took her golfing at the golf store. She LOVED it. And he.....well, he's on cloud 9 because the girl can naturally swing and make contact with the ball. And so, she came home and was telling me all about it, and I got it on video. Love her hat....
In fact, she just walked up the stairs to go to bed and she looked at Trey and said, "I want to go and play golf with you again tomorrow, Daddy." Watch out golfing world.
