The Only Good Thing...

About sitting in the carpool lane is that one sissy gets to hang out in the front seat. Happy girl of the day pictured below...

Wednesday Morning Sister Time

They told me they're best friends.

That was after Reese had to kiss her sister's arm for "applying pressure" to it after Landry wasn't doing what she wanted.

Eyeball And Driver

Landry is into changing up her vocabulary lately.  If there's a song that talks about falling, she replaces the word with jumping.  She applies this to every conversation and song all....day....long.  She is also trying to figure out which words are acceptable and not acceptable in this house.  For example, bathroom words outside the bathroom....not allowed.  The word stupid....not allowed.

However, she asked Trey yesterday if "eyeball" is a bad word.  He told her it wasn't.  So today, she keeps looking at me and calling me Eyeball....and she thinks it is hilarious.  If I don't respond immediately, she goes to her back up word for me...."HEY DRIVER!!!!"

Is she really only three?  What in the world is she going to be like at FIVE!!!!????

"I Just Want To Be An Adult"

Scene:  Trey and Reese are at a pet store buying food for Tucker.  There's a bunny there.  Reese la-la-la-LOVES animals.  A worker gets out the bunny and lets Reese hold it.

Reese:  Daddy, when am I going to get to pick an animal?
Trey:  You did.  You picked out Tucker.
R:  No, my OWN animal.
T:  When you're an adult.
R: *crying* Ahhhhhh!!!!  I JUST WANT TO BE AN ADULT!!!!

They get home.
Reese:  Hailey, Hailey, Hailey....in a lot of years, I'm gonna get my own bunny!
H:  I know.  We have to be adults to get our own animals.
R:  I know....I can't WAIT!

Funny thing is, we have this conversation at least once a week with Reese.  Sometimes she's dying for a bunny, other weeks it's a fish, a cat (that she wants to name Diamond or Sparkle), a hamster or something random.  I'm telling you, she going to be in sales.  Just because you say no once, does not mean you actually mean no....it means you should ask again in a slightly different way a few days later.

Insanity

For a long while I was into running. And then one day I looked at the treadmill and not one part of me wanted to get on it. I had been running about 6.5 miles anywhere from 4-6 days a week. I had started doing more but my knees weren't so happy with me. And so, I've switched it up lately and gone to doing high intensity videos at home mixed in with running. Holy moly....it is such a different workout and it has felt so good.

The best part is that Reese LOVES to do it with me. She and I give each other high fives and she is so good at moving her little body all over the place. Once we hit the cool down she likes to wipe all the sweat off my legs and arms. I have my own personal helper! Here she is in the warm-up.

She starts soccer today and tennis begins next week. The chick is over the moon pumped for sports to begin! Oh how I love our bundle of energy!!!

Friends

I took this load of girlies to the movies last week.  We conquered the mall for lunch and they giggled their way through Ice Age.  It sure is fun to be at a new phase of raising kids....one where I can venture out without a baby and we can even include friends.  Time is really flying by these days, but we are sure trying our best to keep making memories!

Dress Up

Reese and Landry aren't the only two who dress up in this house these days....

Tucker isn't so sure about this family at times ;)

SECOND GRADE!!!

Adios summer.  June was too busy and chaotic.  However, we found our groove in July and August and I sure enjoyed the girls.

Note about second graders:  They still allow you to take their picture without complaining.  However, there are no more cute first day dresses.  No more bows.  No more of Mom deciding how to wear the hair.
Instead, she insisted on wearing a new "scratch and sniff" t-shirt about Brownies (because that's what she is in Girl Scouts now), she had her own idea about how her hair should be braided and pulled back and she picked out earrings to match the outfit.

I tell her all the time how much I love her.  She's my sweet girly girl that has taught me so much.  We prayed together last night that God would bless this school year, that she would learn lots, have fun, work hard and that she would make friends and be a good example to others.  She started at a new school today because we had one built closer to home.  The new move has me nervous, but she's as cool as a cucumber.  Go get 'em Hailes!  We love you!

Game of the day is UNO.

This is Reese's face everytime she slaps me with a Draw Four. She's legitimately won twice now...

I'm Pooped

Funniest.Kid.Ever right below.

Like many three year olds, she tends to get in a bit of trouble because she likes to use "bathroom talk" outside the bathroom.

So yesterday, when I randomly said, "geez, I'm pooped!", she could NOT stop laughing. Then when I told her that just means you're tired (ie. it's a potty phrase that's acceptable outside the bathroom), she really couldn't stop laughing out of joy. She's already added it to her list of phrases (you know, with, "HEY! Are you talking' to me!!??).

Watch out, Landry's pooped....except not really at all!

Eight Is Great...

For her 8th birthday, Hailey had a few requests.

1. She wanted to have a few friends spend the night and to eat at a Hibachi restaurant with them.
2.  She wanted a Justin Bieber birthday cake.

3.  She hoped to get a lava lamp.  (thanks Granni!)
4.  She wanted to have a pinata.
MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!

And for her birthday, I wanted to look back through a few pictures.  It has gone so fast.  We are half way to DRIVING!!!  I remember when we couldn't find Hailey without a tiara.  They have been changed out for sparkly headbands, fun braids and feathers in her hair.

EIGHT!!!???

Not gonna lie, Hailey's birthday makes me sentimental. Looking back, we had no idea what we were getting into with parenthood. In fact, Trey and I had dreamed of our kids together. We assumed they'd be boys (since, you know, I've never been accused of being really girly) and that they'd be rough and tough. God is so good. Thankfully He ignored our thoughts.

She's definitely not rough and she makes up for her mother's lack of girliness. I'm pretty sure that when she becomes an adult I'm just gonna let her be my stylist. More than that though, she's so kind. So gentle. So innocent. So genuine. So full of life. Just like when she was a baby, she still burps when she laughs hard and it is impossible not to crack up when she goes into her open mouthed, body shaking fits of laughter.

I.Love.This.Child.

And I think she has taught me just as much as I've hopefully taught her. She received an award at camp for Most Respectful in her cabin. She finds the good in people and rarely complains. She makes August 7th such an awesome day to celebrate.

Happy birthday Hailey Beth!
