Where's Reese?

Sometimes, it's the little things that make a big difference. A year ago, I would have rather eaten pickles and drank iced tea (BOTH DISGUST ME by the way) than ventured out to go shopping with three small kids. Now, we've got it down!!! We are making progress and this feels great! Problem is, when we leave the store and have to bag things up, sometimes, Reese gets lost in the bottom of the cart!

We Went To The Doctor

This was the first visit to the pediatrician we've had in a while. THANK GOODNESS! And, even better, this was just for a well visit, not for any sick Smithies.

Just so that I can remember, I'm recording some weight and height info!
Miss Hailey, at almost 6 years of age, weighed in at 32 lbs and was 42 inches tall! And yes, she came up with her own pose. She was so excited about wearing these sandals that when Trey left for work and she didn't get a chance to show him her "pick of the day" she began crying. So, we made sure to show him as soon as he got home. Thankfully, Trey thought they were just as cool as Hailey did :).
Miss Reese weighed in at 30 lbs (39%) and was 38 inches tall (67%).
And cutie Landry weighed 25 lbs (68%) and was 32 inches (63%).
Landry and Reese were not happy about the shots. HOWEVER, they all received new rubber ducks and they were VERY excited about that....and the trip to McDonald's for being so tough!

Happy and healthy girls. Could NOT ask for more!

Fantastic Fridays!

Where is this summer going? Tomorrow is AUGUST? This means kindergarten is starting soon....moving on, I'm not going to talk about it yet.

So, on Fridays, I've been trying to make sure that the girlies and I do something fun. Something that doesn't involve me folding laundry and them in the playroom. Their two favorite things have been going to the pet store (I mean, they could look at fish, lizards and hamsters all day long) and going bowling! Granny and Dan started this with them a while back and Hailey and Reese are now experts. They absolutely love going! And Landry is catching on quick!!!

Landry cheering on her sisters.
Hailey aims the ramp really well each time!
Reese loading the ball on the ramp. She WILL NOT ALLOW ANYONE TO HELP HER. If you try to, she'll tell you to "go way" and she'll look the other way until you leave. It's rather funny. Miss Independent at her best!
High Five!
Cheering each other on!

Soon Enough...

She won't be in the watching section at gymnastics. Until then, a few peanut butter crackers help hold her over!

Passing The Time

When bored while waiting on your sisters, why not accessorize?

There's No Doubt

That Landry knows her age. She even told me in the pediatric dentist office!

Reese is a little disappointed right now. When I told her we were going to the dentist this morning, she thought I said we were going to the TENNIS. Her response, "ohhh....I want to play golf too."

Hailey Says...

Today while in the car Hailey said, "Mom, I think I'm going to need my own car. A big one to drive." I said, "Oh really? When are you going to need this car?" Hailey said, "When I'm big like you!" So I asked what kind of car she thinks she will need. Her response, "A light blue one with pink, purple, red and dark pink flowers on the outside."

Apparently, the car conversation starts at 5!

Hailey's Got A Few Ideas...

Hailey has told me so many funny things this summer and I've been bad about writing them down. Her new one came a few days ago. She's always asking Trey if he really HAS to go to work because in her ideal world, he'd stay home everyday and we'd all play. Trey has told her that he goes to work, not to be away from her, but because he makes money for the family for food and our house, etc. Hailey came downstairs the other day and said, "Mom....I've got an idea. What if we go and find some jewels and then hide the jewels all over the house, so that when Daddy gets up in the morning to go to work, we'll just go and find one of the jewels and it'll be worth a lot of money and then he won't have to go to work anymore."

Oh how I wish Hailey Beth....how I wish.

Under The Weather

Landry was running a fever on Sunday and just not feeling so hot. So Hailey cheered her right up by doing one of Landry's favorite things....

Making a few rounds in the Barbie Jeep! Hailey drives and Landry changes the radio!

Fighting Reese is not worth it. Jake has learned this when it comes to wearing headbands.

Summer Family Pictures!

Ok, so I really love to take pictures. And, I really love to put pictures up in our house. However, I'm REALLY bad about going out and getting our pictures taken. The last time we used a professional photographer was....well....before we had any children. A...LONG....TIME...AGO. So I finally found someone and booked an appointment. I told my husband about it....he gave me the look like he'd rather eat dirt....I expected that. But, he was a total trooper. It was hot outside, but the girlies did great and I'm so happy to have some family pics to put up around the house! Here are just a few of my faves.

Happy Birthday America!

We love the 4th of July in this family! We had some friends over for a cookout and then all of us loaded up and went to the city's celebration. We spread out on a soccer field and let the kids run and run and run. And, the weather was perfect. I don't EVER remember a 4th of July in Texas to be 87 degrees, nor do I think it'll happen again, but we sure appreciated it on Sunday! We had bubbles, glow sticks, frisbees, beach balls, washers, fireworks and good company....the perfect weekend!
