Strep And Aliens

Hailey is home from school with strep (again!) because she's contagious. However the strep didn't get to her energy level. She and Landry have been playing "aliens" this morning.

Easter

We've had a history of bad Easter pics of the girls. See previous posts if you don't believe me. I thought today that we might be headed down the same path again after a few of these...

But then we got a few that look pretty good (besides Landry saying, "NOOOO!" about smiling...then again, she is two).

We had a great day. It started off with a big Easter egg hunt at home, an inspiring church service and a trip to spend the day with Trey's Aunt Becky, Uncle Brett and cousins. They were so nice to invite us over for the day. They had another egg hunt for the girls....which they were ecstatic about) and the girls even did some swimming in their pool!

Divide And Conquer

Trey and I had extremely important errands to run today, so I took Hailey and he took the little two. I'm happy to report that we managed to make it through this difficult Saturday.

H and I chatted it up while getting pretty piggies. Her choice was bright pink with a coat of sparkles. She told me, "Mom, this is the BEST DAY EVER!"

Who ARE These People?

You would ALMOST think that Trey and I are social party animals after going to a disco party last weekend and then getting to go see Zac Brown Band and Kenny Chesney tonight. The truth...we aren't anywhere close, but it sure has been nice pretending for the last two weekends!

Actually these concert tickets were Trey's big surprise Christmas gift this past year. We haven't gone to a big concert event since we were 21.....TWELVE years ago. It was time.

And this turned out to be one of our most memorable and favorite nights together.

How he entered the concert....pretty awesome.

Reese And Landry Love...

Costume shops! We had an adult hippie/disco birthday party on Saturday night, but Trey and I both found the girls to be much funnier in costume than we were!

This Weekend....

Trey and Hailey had this conversation this morning...

Trey: Hailey, you know what we're going to do this weekend?

H: Ummm....(excitement building in her voice)..are we going to DISNEY WORLD???

Trey: No. We get to watch THE MASTERS!!! Do you know what THE MASTERS is?

H: (excitement fading) Ummmm....no.

Trey: It's one of the coolest golf tournaments of the year and it's going to be on TV.

H: Oh. Hey Daddy, do you think we can jump on the trampoline this weekend and then when we get tired we can come inside and watch golf?

Trey: Sure.

H: OK!!!!

Real Men Wear Pink

True Story Below:

This past weekend, we went a wedding which was in the Texas Hill Country on a ranch. On our way there, we stopped in Waco at a Taco Cabana (we LOVE that place). When we entered the joint, the cashier filled out a gift card form and handed it to us. She then told us that on Fridays, if you wear pink, you get a gift card for a free breakfast. We earned one card because one of us had on pink. In this family there are five members. Four are female, one is male. And wouldn't you know, the person who earned us a free breakfast was.....that's right.....my man, Trey!!! I mean, really, what are the chances that he's actually WEARING pink and that one of our children ISN'T wearing pink? It was pretty funny.

Travel Tips By Hailey

When we left San Antonio today, Hailey had on shorts and a t-shirt. When I turned around to check on the girls, I found this...


Hailey said she was hot, so she decided to just wear her swim suit. She had been wearing it under her clothes since she had been playing at the River House with her Granni and Uncle Kyle.

I mentioned that she could just ask me to make the air cooler. She prefers just stripping down to the tankini.
