Happy Birthday Hailey!

You are looking at one fabulous six year old!
She did it. I told her not to, but she didn't listen to me. I asked her to wake up on Saturday morning as a five year old still, but she refused and decided that six was the number she wants to be! It officially takes two hands for her to show you how old she is now. And the great news was that my Aunt Rhonda, Uncle David, and cousins Kadon, Laura and Mitch all came to town for a weekend away and it fell on her birthday. So....FAMILY PARTY!!!! Here's how it went down for the big day...

First, we had a good old cookout!
And during dinner, Hailey noticed that some of our guests didn't have their own party hats, so we made sure to pass them around so no one would miss out on the fun! Here's Mitch, Uncle David, Jon (Kadon's friend who had no idea what he was getting himself into when he came to visit Kadon) and Kadon!
Then, Hailey noticed that Aunt Rhonda didn't have a hat. So, we fixed that too!
And Landry....well, she just loves a party.
After dinner, we went out back to take some hits at a pinata. This turned out to be Hailey's favorite part of her party she later said!
She took some hard whacks at it!
And so did Reese.
And then....the big dog, Mitch, stepped in because we needed a bit more muscle power...
And from that point, it didn't take long for everyone to gather up the goods!

Next, we went inside for some present opening!
Present opening=success.
And Hailey even modeled her new Jessie dress-up costume from Toy Story 3. Isn't she the cutest cowgirl?

Then, it was time for cookie cake and ice cream. Hailey had really wanted a cookie cake and picked out the design and colors herself. I thought she did excellent!

It was such an enjoyable weekend. The girls and Trey and I just loved having family in town. There was always some one for Reese to try to wrestle with, someone for Hailey to nominate as the monster to chase her around and someone for Landry think about letting hold her....before she'd insist on coming back to me :). And even Jake had a friend this weekend because Laura and Kadon's dog, Phoebe, made the journey from Kansas. Life can't get much better than that!
